Thanks for the reply and warm welcome.
Costa Rica is a dire hard soccer country. There are small groups of Europeans and a few gringos that do play and are quite competitive.
Unfortunately, I have never been asked to join a game...

A slang term used to describe a North American.
I prefer an "extranjero"" which means foreigner.
